Playboy has an enticing and long history. There was a 25 year period 1960-1985 when playboy owned and operated Playboy clubs, 25 clubs in total, all over the world. The “Bunnies” served coctails, flirted with patrons, slipped tips into their cleavage and changed history a little bit for women then.
The original club was in Chicago, Hef’s hometown. The original Bunny’s name was Ilsa Taurins who at the time was dating Hef’s promotions manager. When Ilsa and her mother sewed the costume, satin with a tail and ear’s headband… little did they know what a sex symbol they had just thrown together!

While these women are beautiful, I lived through the era and pretty much remember that they were considered toys, not people. I very much resented the fact that boys would ask my boobs out on dates and never look me in the face. My answer was usually, “Sorry, they don’t go anywhere without me.” Then the boy would look at me and say, “Huh?”
